There’s a Monster on My Head is a 135- word picture book concept intended for ages 3-8. The story uses the metaphor of a monster to explore life with an invisible disability, including autism. While the monster can make things harder, it’s also a part of the child’s world. Sometimes quiet, sometimes loud, the monster is always present. There’s a Monster on My Head encourages young readers to build empathy, recognize unseen challenges, and understand that patience, support, and friendship can make all the difference.
